Gone downhill in the last year. After we were seated and had our drinks we were told they were completely out of hamburgers. The waitress was more interested in what/who appeared to be her children who were running around loose in the restaurant than in serving. She also spent time on the phone with "Bubby", so loud we could hear her side of the conversation at our table on the other side of the restaurant. Then we got the entree 10 minutes before the appetizer. At least the manager comped the appetizer. The entree was, however, very tasty and that was the only reason I rated this visit as two stars.
Place was short on help so wait time on food was long. When asked if the manager was helping out was told no manager there and wouldn't be for over an hour. Our server was nice but frustrated trying to wait tables and cook too. We were given a salad til our food arrived. It was good, ordered sirloin tips. I just thought it was strange that there was no manager there and no one was called in. We actually saw 2 tables walk out. Felt bad for employees that were there trying their best. I wouldn't walk out in a situation like that.
Having recently spent the last year working at IHOP in Chillicothe I can fully vouch that the franchise owner Romulus, has truly let this establishment go down hill. There was Raid Cockroach killer on the break room table for around a month, and this place is heavily infested, they spray down the kitchen, and it doesn't help. A good majority of the night staff go behind the building and engage in drugs. If their Survey reviews were posted publicly you would see all the drug related surveys from disgruntled guests. Over the last few months it has gotten out of hand and the evening business from 3pm-10pm has tremendously declined, being a former server at this establishment I can say that I went from averaging $10-15 /hour ++ on a 40 hour shift to averaging $5 an hour. This place needs reported and they need to close it down and get rid of their roaches. They also need new managers that aren't partaking in drug usage.
Food was as good as always but service... well I was served coffee in a soup bowl then brought a coffee mug when pouring coffee into mug a spill almost covered the table. I used my napkin to contain the spill while four servers walked be looking. My only option was to go to the mens room and getting some hand towels and return to the table and clean the spill myself. It felt as if they all had a "not my job" attitude, including our server. This really upset me and my wife. Such poor service...
Food and service was great. I was disappointed to learn that IHOP will be open on Christmas day. Sad for employees.
