The staff are of the finest in all the world. The food is as good as it gets. Thay try to fill up our down time with special activity. I've never been treated this well.
Every time I've tried to come here for any sort of help, I have been met with apathy and disdain. It is heartbreaking beyond words. Too often, giving up is the only option here. Please, for the love of god, stay away.
I beg you, if you have ANY other option, DO NOT come here. Moving to this facility from Chillicothe was literally one of the worst mistakes of my life.
I can't speak for other centers, but I LOVE the Chillicothe VA. They have always been terrific with me. I have been going there since 1997 and have never had a bad experience.
Most of the staff couldn't care less about veterans, and they will do as little as possible to help you. They are here to hold down a seat and collect a paycheck. If we were this bad at our jobs in the military, we would be punished for dereliction of duty.
This place is extremely BLESSED with talented and loving staff! It might have something to do with over 50% of them are left-handed!
As a veteran whom has been hospitalized for a solid amount of time at this facility. Along with my Father and Grandfather going here. It is considered a rural area and although the VA does have issues and some staff just 9-5 it; there are alot of great programs and things happening here. Stop complaining and do something about it. There are tons of volunteer programs here as well as jobs. Be the change, not the constant complaint.
