Midas called me up to confirm repair dates and services on the old car (And, I'm wondering "Why are you asking me? You guys have records on ALL car repairs YOU do, right?"). Do yourself a favor and find another repair shop.
The car traveled 1951 miles & I paid $1501.66.
(They also recommended an additional $764.16 worth a repairs/replacement parts, plus tires, during the 2016 visit, but I had no more money.)
I didn't drive the car much over the next 11 months because I drove my other car. My daughter needed to borrow the car, but she soon had problems with it. The L/R wheel was making a loud, grinding sound. It was taken back to Midas ten (10) days short of a year when it was there for the same problem. (9/25/17)
I visited this Midas between late 2014 and early 2015, and I was left totally dissatisfied. They did work on a car I used to co-own. It seemed like I had to keep going back. First, it was the serpentine belt (which they had to re-install, like, three times) and the alternator. Next, it was an idler pulley, brakes, and tires.
I just have to say that the honesty and clarity of my experience with my recent visit here was a wonderful feeling. I was feeling so stressed about the problems I was having with my car. Not only were problems fixed, but it was explained and the problems were shown to me. No pressure was put on me to have any unnecessary repairs. Thanks, Tammy and the mechanics. Keep up the good work. Great job Kyle
The thing that got me was when I bought another car:
This time, it was determined that the rear brakes, drums & wheel cylinders needed replaced. I had the work done because my daughter needed the car. After trying to get some consideration for the supposed repairs from the previous year, they gave me about $20 off. I talked to Tammy & Adam, but both said that there had been no complaint, discovery of a problem or repair of either wheel cylinder on the vehicle when I was there in 2016. I tried to show them my paperwork, but they still denied it. I paid another $580.21.
The final draw was when they diagnosed the accelerator sensor as being bad. They worked on it, and then a week later, the problem returned. Not only was I out of $300, plus hundreds of dollars in earlier repairs, but my car was left unable to drive.
On 10/05/16, I took my car in for a soft pedal & a possible brake line leaking on the L/R (as well as an exhaust heat shield rattle). By the time I got the car back, they had replaced the front brakes & rotors, the master cylinder & a foot of exhaust pipe. I paid $921.45. As I drove the car off the lot, the brake pedal was still as soft as it was when I brought it there. I returned & informed Tammy & she had the mechanic look at it again. Within a few minutes, it was determined that the wheel cylinder on the L/R was bad & leaking. Tammy said that the problem would be fixed with no further charge. Eventually, I got the car back & it 'appeared' better than it was.
What was once a great shop & a place I (sadly) recommended to others, is now very different than it was. I thought that I'd found a place that I could trust, but now I must seek out another repair shop because there's NO WAY that I'll return to this Midas, #223.
Although I once got the service that I needed & it didn't cost me very much, this store has more than made up for it.
Last night, my low brake fluid was low. I looked around and found a hole in the line. I called midas and they had my car in within the hour. Had a great experience with them. Definitely made me a repeat costumer. Thank you Tammy and your team.
Had great service. They resolved my issues with awesome success. Going back get my tires from them. Keep up the good work. Very nice people.
